Role Overview
The AMTS (Associate Member of Technical Staff) position sits within the Q3 (Quality Engineering) function of Salesforce’s all-new Sales Data Applications organisation — a team at the intersection of Sales, AI, and Data Cloud. As an AMTS engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, validation, and evaluation of AI-assisted tools and workflows powered by modern Large Language Models (LLMs). Roles & Responsibilities
- AI Tool Development: Design, build, and enhance AI-assisted tools leveraging LLMs such as Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf; integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and APIs to improve testability and productivity.
- Prompt Engineering & Agent Workflows: Develop and optimise prompt strategies, agent workflows, and orchestration layers to support complex, real-world AI-driven use cases across the Sales Data Applications team.
- AI Output Evaluation: Define and implement robust frameworks to validate AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, safety, and consistency, including hallucination detection, bias analysis, and edge-case identification.
- Test Automation: Create new automation with mentoring from senior Q3 peers, fix bugs in existing automation, and contribute consistently to increasing automated test coverage across feature areas.
- Test Planning & Execution: Design prioritised, customer-focused test plans, execute tests correctly end-to-end, file clear bug reports with reproduction steps, and participate in release support activities.
- Benchmarking & Evaluation Pipelines: Establish benchmarks, test suites, and automated evaluation pipelines for AI-powered tools; ensure all AI solutions adhere to Salesforce’s quality guidelines, ethical standards, and data privacy requirements.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with peers and technical leads on best practices in prompt engineering and AI evaluation; support fellow AMTS engineers on standard team procedures and proactively suggest process improvements.
